Drs. Zlotolow and Kozin get a surprise visit from Zion Harvey

Zion Harvey, the world’s first and only child to receive a hand transplant, paid a surprise visit to the place where it all began 5 years ago. Zion was first seen at Shriner’s Hospital for Children because he wanted help with his prosthetic legs. Because he was already on medications for organ transplantation, Dr. Zlotolow identified him as a potential candidate for a hand transplant. With Drs. Kozin and Levin, a full team of over 20 doctors and nurses was developed. Zion’s hand transplantation was performed 4 years ago, and he is still enjoying his new hands.
